This is one show at my workplace which will always remain closest to my heart.
Each and everyone who contributed to its success are purely my friends. There were no professional models. Overcoming all the challenges of managing time for rehearsal after a grueling nine to six job, we actually made it through which I could never imagine. Nothing had pleased me more than seeing our designs and creations worn and appreciated by each of my colleagues.
I never thought that I will receive so many accolades for the creativity of Phulkari. My ace photographer friends Mangalika and Dipankar helped project our designs in the best possible way.
This was just the first baby step towards my dream..

Rags-to-Riches
2011
My first design portfolio shoot in association with my photographer friend Dipankar. Being from same college, we also happened to work in the same workplace. Isnt that wonderful?
Well it was him on first place to approach me with the idea of this photoshoot, and obviously there was no way I could deny an opportunity where my passion finds a vent. The plan was to do something rustic and hence raw rag jute and flex leather were decided to be the materials which could do pure justice to the models as well as the theme.
It was an overwhelming experience to make this a success. As I look back to these captures of my creation, they still seem unfathomable. The impossible task of stitching each piece bit by bit, was accomplished by someone who didnt even know basics of Sewing, is what continues to startle me. Yet its enough of an inspiration that acts as a constant reminder, 'Its never too late' !!
